The Metropolitan was seeking qualified and experienced consulting firms to perform site inspections and fabrication inspections conducted at various construction sites within Metropolitan’s service area and fabrication/manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and overseas. These services included but were not limited to inspection, sampling, and testing of fabricated materials, structural steel, fabricated pipe up to 12 ft. diameter, large diameter valves, pumps, motors, switchgear, transformers, generators, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.

ZTC performed continuous inspection of ladders, structural components, steel jackets, footbridge assemblies, and miscellaneous fabricated steel elements, ensuring conformity with AWS D1.1, approved WPS/PQRs, MWD specifications, and shop drawings. Inspectors verified weld quality, monitored FCAW welding procedures, reviewed mill certifications, confirmed material traceability, coordinated daily with QCMs and CWIs, and produced detailed daily inspection reports with photographic documentation. This scope ensured consistent QA presence throughout fabrication and provided MWD with real-time assurance of specification compliance.
