Rosecrans/Marquardt Grade Separation
Client| Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)
2023 - 2023 | $156 Million
The Rosecrans Marquardt Grade Separation Project (RM Project) aims to enhance safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and Marquardt Avenue in the City of Santa Fe Springs. This involves constructing a new bridge overpass to separate vehicular and pedestrian traffic from the BNSF owned rail corridor. The current grade crossing experiences heavy traffic, with around 45,000 vehicles passing through it daily, in addition to approximately 135 Metrolink commuter trains, Amtrak intercity passenger trains, and BNSF freight trains, resulting in a train crossing approximately every 10 minutes.
ZTC was involved in performing QA verification of perform in process precast inspection of PC/PS girders and concrete deck panels. ZTC worked closely with the fabricator, Prime, CM, and Metro to ensure all girders and deck panels were fabricated per project plans, met QA requirements, on-time and within budget.
